Day two of the conference provides practical break-out sessions where attendees can network with our Oak Ridge staff and other church leaders covering every program area of the church. You are free to roam about the cabin and hit the topics that best match your interests. No pre-registration for sessions required.

For first time guests, it can be a long walk from the parking lot to the pew…or in our case, cushy seats! A successful Guest Service’s team is ready to receive ALL guests and support them every step of the way. In this session, participants will be provided with tips and tools on how to help volunteers understand the “why” behind what we do, thus changing the way we interact with our guests. We will also discuss what’s working and what’s not, and brainstorm ways we can help each other improve the way we care for our guests. Preparing Your Elementary Environment
In this session, you will see all the logistics that go into preparing for a Sunday morning, including curriculum, volunteer and core team building, orientation, ministry handbooks, background checks, organizing a workroom and more. (Session 1 & 3) Speaker: Cheryl Bush
Game Plan for Successful Student Ministry
In order to win on Sundays you first need to find a team and then execute. In this breakout, we’ll discuss how to build an effective team around you. We’ll also examine the flow of a Sunday service with all the when’s, what’s, why’s, how’s and…we already know the WHO! (Session 1 & 3) Speaker: Dustin Shiles
Getting Your People Out of the Seats and Into the Streets
What does it take to get people out of their seats and into the community, or across the ocean? How do you identify the right target in your church so that you mobilize the right people from your church? How do you make the right people aware of the right things to do? We will explore these questions and more. (Session 1 & 3) Speaker: Gary McCabe
T.E.A.M. (Technical Excellence As A Ministry)
We will share the overview of our Tech ministry’s philosophy and values, as well as our approach to creating an environment for reaching hearts for Christ. Small Groups: Where Do We Start?
This is an overview of ORBC’s small group history and experiences while transitioning from a Sunday School model to a Small Groups model of discipleship. This session will equip you to design and implement a small group model that will custom fit your church. In this breakout, we will explore different models and methods for connecting people into small groups. (Session 1 & 3) Speakers: Tim Hastings, Gordon Nock
Celebrate Recovery 101
Do you want to see a life changed from being filled with hurts, habits and hangups to a Christ following servant of the Lord? That's exactly what happens in Celebrate Recovery. If you would like to hear more about Celebrate Recovery and how it works, as well as some do's and dont's to start Celebrate Recovery in your church, then come to our CR101 meeting where we will discuss how Celebrate Recovery works at Oak Ridge. Beyond Sunday: The Never-Ending Student Ministry
Sunday may be over, but our job isn’t. In this breakout, we’ll discuss what the rest of the week looks like for people leading Student Ministry. From student/parent follow up to planning purposeful events, we’ll go over a number of topics to help you get from Sunday to Sunday and plan out your year. (Session 2 & 4) Speaker: Dustin Shiles

In this session, we will address the question: Is it okay to quantitatively measure the progress of your church? As we address this question, we will look at key metrics that will enable you to assess the progress of your church in achieving your Dream for the church.
